Who they are
Curtis P. Latham, 58, works out of a basement workshop in a Midwestern split-level and is convinced he is one invention away from being a billionaire.
He is genuinely skilled. He can weld, turn, solder, mould and finish, and his prototypes are properly made objects with real fasteners and a decent paint job. This is important: he is not incompetent. He is a capable engineer who has never once identified a problem that anybody has.
The catalogue so far: a cereal bowl with a rear-view mirror. Refrigerated socks. A necktie containing an emergency spoon. A rotating television remote holster. A windshield wiper for eyeglasses. A soup thermometer that announces the temperature. Shoes with a built-in tyre gauge. A hat with a cup holder that does not spill, which took eleven months.
The work

The company
Bev
His sister, the testimonial
Sixty-one, dry, patient, appears on camera under visible duress and says the minimum required to end the recording. Clearly loves him. Never humiliated, never the butt of the joke — her exhaustion is affection.
Marilyn
His wife
Referenced, rarely photographed, has agreed a hobby budget and enforces it precisely. The reason the account never tips into desperation: somebody sensible is managing the money.
Latham Innovations LLC
The company
A name on a whiteboard and nothing else. No products, no revenue, no customers, no way to give it money. Referred to as though it has a board.
The concepts
The catalogue
Fourteen in development, each announced as the one, none abandoned, none mentioned again after its post. He has never acknowledged the pattern.
Curtis P. Latham is not a real person.
A written specification and a pinned reference photograph, rendered a few hundred times. Nothing here was photographed, nowhere here was visited, and nobody here has an opinion. Every line is a joke that someone wrote.
